Currently In: Girl Next Door the Band, doing classic and new female fronted rock.
I am Always Seeking Vocalist for recording and maybe some gigs, Female or Male. If you can sing, make to practice in North Phoenix (or tele collaborate), and are in relative sync with the music styles listed below. Contact me NOW don't wait another second. Looking for some one with a unique sound and/or the ability to push it out. The music orbits around the singer, so not much orbiting is happening until you fill the void. Am ready and willing to design the music around the sound and style of the singer so don't be shy, just do it.
Purpose: Create, Record some good music and have fun doing it
If you are here you must know me or I gave you the link. This is my home studio where I do my music thing. I would like to collaborate with a vocalist and other musicians to get some original music in the can (so to speak). The final objective is then to shop the music via the standard channels (It could happen). I personally don't wish to play live any more (well not bars) maybe an occasional special event or similar.
I have written a dozen or more songs most are incomplete and they
really need a vocalist before they can be finished. I have just recently (1 year
(2001)) started writing material, its a lot harder than I thought it would be,
but it is slowly improving. I currently play all the parts (Guitar, Bass, Keys)
over a synthetic drum track. With the intent of replacing the drum track with a
real drummer.
My Influences In no particular order:
(Signifies Female Vocals)
Bands I like or Liked: In no particular order:)
Older stuff: Tesla, Foreigner, Elton John, Lynard Skynard, Cheap
Trick, Warrant, Blondie, Scandal,
Pat Benatar,
Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Joe Jackson, Rick Springfield, Santana,
Tears for Fears, Michael Jackson, Eagles,
Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Beatles,
Vixen,
Blondie,
Concrete Blonde
Lita Ford, Thin
Lizzie, and a whole
lot more (too much typing).
Somewhat Newer Stuff: Jet, Maroon 5, SR71, Pink, Avril Lavine, Queens of the Stone age, Lenny Kravits, Smashmouth, Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, The Donnas, Evenessance, Joan Osborn, Lillix, Michelle Branch and more. I don't listen to the radio much so there's probably a lot more out there that just haven't heard yet, turn me on to a new sound:)
I realize these are mostly oldie bands but that doesn't necessarily mean
that that's what I write like. Well ok if I write it all by my self it may
resemble some of those groups, but if I collaborate, the result is usually a
compromise. That can be a good thing:)
I have found through the years that if you get some people with varying
music taste, you come up with a brand new sound. The most successful band I
was in was comprised of 4 different varieties of taste. However sometimes its
just a train wreck.
If more than 70% of the bands listed above make you ill just thinking about them then that probably means that collaborating with me would be less than successful:)
The Old Days (in Counterfit)
Here are some ancient pictures of my early band days (probably from the Jurassic or plastisine era). The band I was in the longest was Counterfit Comprised id Myself (Guitar Vocals), Jim Duncan (Bass Vocals), Craig Thomson (percussion Vocals), Craig Frost (Guitar Vocals), and Later replaced with Mike Morrisy (Guitar Lead Vocals), Alan Harvey on Sound and David Wilson (AKA Lights) on Lights. And an entourage of friends that tagged along as roadies (sometimes a small army). We walked away from the whole thing with no record deal, no money, no fame, and ten years behind our friends who were climbing the ladder in the American dream. But I personally had the best time of my life and would do the same thing over again knowing how it all turns out.
