Population Do the Math    Back to Home Page

World Population starting 2000 years ago

Most of the researchers have concluded that this planet is capable of sustaining 3 to 3.8 billion people with out causing irreversible damage to the planet. Even at that number humans would need to limit their lifestyles to reduce the ill effects to our air and water supply.

Carl Seagan noted in his book "Billions and Billions" that ALL exponential growth systems will destroy themselves by over populating. He was right. You, will just experience gridlock, long lines, restrictions on your freedom and mobility. However your children will grow up in a very different world, their children will know horrors that we haven't imagined yet.

The only solution is to limit the birthrate to achieve a negative population growth.
And if the offers Shunned, We Might as Well be Walkin on the Sun

MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction)

Maybe the scenario in the above picture will get us to a manageable number of humans (Zero). That's not a very good solution, but plausible.
