Glen Benson

Guitar and Keys

Glen cut his teeth in music trying to bite through the low E string on his guitar. A quick trip to the dentist he was hooked for life. After months of trial and error he found he could play much better with a pick than his teeth.  In the early 70's he formed Counterfit (along with Craig Frost)  played in the Phoenix and the southwest for the next 6 years. With the release of his first single (Radio Queen) It appeared that Record deals were flying at him left and right, but it turned out they we rejections. So back to the road  Backing Misc. larger acts including Sam The Sham and The Pharos. Ironically the first 45 rpm record he bought as a kid was Little Red Riding Hood by the same group. About a decade ago he started playing keys also, so now he can hit sour notes on 2 instruments (sometimes at the same time). He played off and on with several different bands until present. Most recently the SofaKings better known as the So Fukings get it:) Took me a while

Now with Girl Next Door Glen is groping for chords on the keys as well as plinking strings on guitar. Still writing and recording in his home studio as well.

Influences: Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Heart, Styx, Deep Purple, Areosmith, im sure you get the picture
